As a member of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze (Dr) Sheikh Abdulfatah Chimaeze Emetumah III is the ninth Ofor of the Umuofor autonomous community.
His Royal Highness, Emetumah III is also the grand imam of his community and Igbo land, as well as the deputy chairman, Council of Ndi Eze in Oguta, and the deputy chairman, Traditional Rulers of Oil Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON).
He is a Muslim presiding over the affairs of a Christian-dominated community as Muslims make up 20 or 25 per cent of the population of Umuofor community.

The traditional ruler was born in Kaduna, Nigeria and become a Muslim in 1970 when his late father Eze Abdul Gazar Ihunanze Duru Emetumah II was converted to Islam.
He wed the 1965-born Muslim Queen Ugoeze Fatimah Ijeoma in 1982.
