Sadio Mane Named African Footballer of Year again

At the 2022 CAF Football Awards held in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday night, Sadio Mane was named Africa Player of the Year. Mohamed Salah and Edouard Mendy, two former Liverpool teammates, couldn’t stop the 30-year-old Senegalese forward.

The 30-year-old Mane was the last recipient of the prize before COVID-19 compelled the event’s suspension, and he has now successfully defended his title.

The new forward for Bayern Munich had a good season last year, helping Liverpool win the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, completing a domestic double.

I’m really happy to finally be at FC Bayern in Munich- Sadio Mané

He was instrumental in helping Senegal win the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time ever on the international stage. In order to qualify for the World Cup, the Teranga Lions additionally defeated Egypt.
