Zamfara’s governor, Bello Matawalle, has given the go-ahead for the state to allot land for the construction of a Qur’anic and Islamic institution.

Atta’arif Fil-Islam Charity Organization, based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will establish the university.

Mr. Matawalle made the announcement at a banquet in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, according to a government statement released in Gusau on Sunday by Nasiru Biyabiki.

Speaker of the state House of Assembly Nasiru Magarya acted as Mr. Matawalle’s representative.

Khalid Alhammudy, the founder of the charity and Imam of Masjidur-Rahma in Jeddah, predicted that the institution would increase access to education in the region and in Nigeria.

The charity organization has been working in collaboration with other sister organizations and government authorities to provide training institutions and other essential services across African countries.

These are some of the social protection initiatives that support underdeveloped nations to meet their expectations, according to Mr. Alhammudy.

The Muslim scholar vowed to keep praying for enduring peace, religious harmony, and socioeconomic progress in Zamfara and Nigeria.

Mr. Matawalle responded by thanking the organization for the gesture and reiterating the Zamfara government’s commitment to the university’s actualization.
The governor said, “It is part of our guiding principles to welcome any development, especially those with direct impact on our dear state and country in general.”
