Remembering Prof. Abdul Hakeem Mobolaji

We lost Professor Abdul Hakeem Mobolaji in an automobile accident on the sixth of Dhul Hijjah, 1436 A.H.

The Nigerian Islamic community held him in high regard. His best qualities included intelligence, godliness, being accommodating and tolerant.

He earned his B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Ibadan in 1992, his M.Sc. in Islamic Banking and Finance Management from Loughborough University in 2005, and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Leicester in 2008. Despite reaching the pinnacle of scholarly achievement, he actively promoted Islam.

His impassioned and persuasive delivery made for an enlightening lesson. His memory had practically all of the Quran’s indexes.

He was uncorruptible and served in high-ranking positions in government organizations as well as in the National Assembly and other high-level committees of the Nigerian Federal Government.

We honor him today for the good he lived to do.
