Allahu akbar Allahu akbar Allahu akbar, Laa ilaha illa Llahu Allahu akbar, wa liLlahi l-hamd
Greatest is He, who has brought us upon the folds of Islam, we praise Him for His plenty blessings and we testify that there is no deity deserving of our worship, other than Him.
The privilege of life, through not just the times of the year but living and fairing well in this meritorious moment of Dhul-hijjah is certainly one that places an indivudual to want to desire to give his/her all, in praising Allah for the huge bounty and taking bold steps to acquire the blessings therein, if only it is understood. An opportunity – to be utilized fully well, as the assurance of living through the next isn’t guaranteed – it is. The commencement of the best (10) days of the year in our present time – designated for Dhul-hijjah – took a kick yesterday and it is deserving to note again that the referred days are when ALL good deeds are most beloved to Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ, as taught by the noblest of mankind, Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. Our Creator is not just about putting us to task, in order to seek His reward in this period, but as well ready to grant our heartfelt desires/requests in dearly ways which signifies His extraordinary love for it and us.

As we give our best to being dutiful towards every form of goodness in worship, giving, moral upgrading, repenting, in order to tap the divine advantages embedded in this span of time, let’s endeavour to make our request with sincere minds with no blemish, as the One who answers all requests is undoubtedly ready to grant them, bi idhniLLAH. Fasting and Qur’an utilisation are loving acts of worship and a better chance to maximise their rewards are here. It’s recommended to fast all through the 9 days before Eid-ul-adha and inability to do that, allows one to fast lesser number of days, but in the event of missing out on the other days, the 9th day’s (Yawmal Arafah) fast is highly rewarding and deserving of being taken upon, for the favor of its virtue of Allah’s forgiveness of the previous and next year’s sins isn’t a blessing to be taken with levity.
Prayers – for ourselves, our kindred (both around us and far faraway, including those in Hajj), Nigeria and the world at large – is of importance, as the present times, fall in need of it and making such Du’a in this glorious moment, makes for a greater goodness.
In all, we pray Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ bestow upon us, the reward of mercy, favours, provisions that come with doing His cause at this time and other times beyond. May He strengthen us to walk our ways into His bounties in every capacity we are privileged to have, and gift us with the ultimate blessings of Jannah in the hereafter, Aameen.
Let’s not forget to recite Suratul Kahf before sunset. May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ accept our sincere worship.
