The first flight carrying Nigerian Hajj pilgrims from Maiduguri Airport in Borno to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has arrived.
Yesterday, a Max Air (NGL1001) flight carrying Nigerian pilgrims from Maiduguri in Borno landed safely in Saudi Arabia at 9:20 p.m. Nigerian time and 11:20 p.m. Saudi Arabian time, according to report.
The 516 Nigerian Pilgrims who left Maiduguri International Airport, including 327 men and 189 women from Borno State, have arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
Ambassador Yahaya Lawal of Nigeria and Consul General Mansur AbdulKareem of Saudi Arabia welcomed the pilgrims.
Ustaz Lamin and head NRT Muhammad Girei represented the NAHCON team.
In his speech, the Ambassador urged the pilgrims to act as Nigerian ambassadors and to pray for peace, stability, and a successful election.
Hajj is an Arabic word that means “to intend a journey.” Hajj is a yearly spiritual journey that Muslims must perform at least once in their lives to exhibit their devotion and faith in Allah (SWT). Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam, along with Shahadah (declaration of faith), Salat (daily prayer), Zakat (alms giving), and Sawm (fasting in Ramadan).
