Lotus Bank Limited’s Founder and Chairperson is Hajara Folake Adeola. Lotus Capital Limited, a Nigerian pioneer in Shari’ah compliant Asset Management, Private Wealth Management Advisory Services, and Financial Advisory Services. Similarly, Lotus Bank Limited was founded by Hajara Adeola and managed by her.

Hajara Adeola was the Director, CCT Islamic Finance at UBS Warburg and the head of their London Islamic Finance Desk before starting Lotus Capital. She worked as a Convertible Bond Research Analyst at BNP Paribas in London before joining UBS.

She has 25 years of international expertise in research and analysis, investment management, corporate finance, and Islamic finance. Adeola graduated from King’s College, London, with a B.Sc. in Pharmacology, an M.Sc. in Finance from Durham University, where she specialized in Islamic Finance, and an MBA in International Management from Exeter University, UK.

Hajara Adeola is a West African Fellow of the Aspen Leadership Initiative and the inaugural President of the Fund Managers Association of Nigeria. She is also the Chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s non-interest capital market 10-year master plan committee, as well as a Director of The Aliko Dangote Foundation. Hajara played a key role in the development of Islamic financing instruments in the capital market, as well as the issue of the Sukuk bond in Nigeria.

Notwithstanding, with her hectic schedule as a financial powerhouse, Kogi State native Hajara (née Atta) finds time to care for her husband and their six adorable children, all of whom are thriving in their own fields.
