Ahmod Oladejo studied Biochemistry and graduated with a first class honours from Lagos State University, Ojo.
The Lagos State University, Best Graduating Student in Faculty of Science for the 2019/2020 set, Ahmod Oladejo, has said reading the stories of successful students motivated and always inspired him to achieve similar feat.
In an exclusive interview with The Muslim Voice NG on Saturday, Ahmod explained that he have always been at top 3 of his class since primary and secondary school.
Ahmod, who led the pack with cumulative gradient point average of 4.81 out of the possible five points, said the period he would describe as most challenging was when he was the president of my departmental association. Other challenging periods were when he had to take up some part-time jobs.

He said, “Although engagements in extracurricular activities took most of my time I still endeavoured to give priority to my studies. I usually don’t wait till days to exam or test before I start reading. I do prepare a comprehensive outline of my course progress; the topics discussed, materials released, tips shared by lecturers, etc. This ensures that I don’t leave any part of the course unread. I had a saying then that “the secret of 5.0 is to read everything”. This might seem impossible. But one should ensure to read 70 to 80%. And I don’t forget the God factor, I pray for retention and favour.
“Before gaining admission I had learnt that the world now demands graduates who are not only academically inclined. Thanks to a book that I read then: “The Power of Focus” by Andrew Hewitt, Les Hewitt and Luc A’dadie. In my first year, I focused on my academics to build a very strong CGPA. In subsequent years, I was actively engaged in extracurricular activities. I was member of several committees in my department, faculty and at the Students Union level (Lasusu). I was also a pioneer member of Sustainable Development Goals Awareness Campaign Act Lagos State University (SDGs ACT LASU). In all, I still ensured I did very well in my studies.”
