On the night of Saturday, April 23, 2022, a young ustadh, Muhammed Sani Lawal died in Sujūd while leading Ta’ajud prayer in Zaria.
Muhammed Sani Lawal died in Samaru Zaria while performing Tahajjud, also known as the “night prayer”, in Sujūd position, near the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Tahajjud is a voluntary prayer performed Muslims. While
Sujūd or sajdah is the act of low bowing or prostration to God facing the qiblah It is usually done in standardized prayers (Salah).
The last ten days of Ramadan features the Night of Qadr (Night Of Majesty). Allah Almighty says “the night of majesty is better than one thousand nights” (Quran 92: 3) it is meant to call our attention to the fact that the night is equal in importance to 30,000 days of worship; it is equivalent to 83 years of complete devotion to the Almighty.
