Dr. Muhammed Alimi AbdulRazaq was turbaned as the next Mutawali of Ilorin by the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR on Friday, Yaomul Jumuah Friday 15th day of Shaa’ban 1443AH equal to the 18th of March 2022 at the Emir’s Palace, Ilorin.
As dignitaries from far and wide converged on the palace to see the celebration, it was a grand, colorful, and historic occasion. It will be noted that the Emir of Ilorin appointed Dr. AbdulRazaq as the next Mutawali of Ilorin on Thursday, July 22, 2021.
Dr. Muhammed Alimi AbdulRazaq is a seasoned lawyer with over 42 years of post-call experience. He possesses a law degree from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria, and a Ph.D. from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom. He is a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London and a Fellow of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Currently, Dr. AbdulRazaq is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Forte Upstream Services Limited. He is also the Managing Partner of House of Laws (Advocates and Solicitors) in Lagos and Abuja, as well as the Founder and Chairman of Bridge House College in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Dr. Muhammed Alimi AbdulRazaq was born in the historic city of Zaria, Kaduna State, to the family of Alhaji Abdulganiyu Folorunsho AbduRazaq, SAN, OFR, the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Kwara State (1927-2020). Alhaja Raliat AbdulRazaq (b. 1930) is his mother, and she is from Ilorin’s Oke-Apomu Quarters. The current Mutawali of Ilorin is a member of the well-known Yerinsa family of Pakata, Ilorin’s Idigba Quarters.
