Ramadan 1443AH: Sultan Announce Commencement of Ramadan in Nigeria


On Friday, April 1st, 2022, which is equivalent to 29th Sha’aban 1443 AH the entire Muslim Ummah were in search for the crescent of Ramadan 1443 AH after sunset. Meanwhile, Ramadan 2022 in Nigeria will begin on Saturday 2nd of April 2022.

In a press statement this evening, the President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, has declared Saturday, 2nd April 2022 as the first day of Ramadan 1443 AH.

 

 

Similarly, the National Moon Sighting Committee (NMSC) of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) noted that the crescent of Ramadan 1443H has been sighted at some locations in Nigeria.

The Ramadan Crescent was seen in Saudi Arabia earlier today. The crescent of Ramadan 2022 was seen by Saudi astronomers at Majmaah University’s observatory.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates are among the countries that have seen the crescent and will begin Ramadan tomorrow.

Oman, Jordan, Malaysia, and Indonesia, on the other hand, did not see the crescent and will begin Ramadan on Sunday.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and it is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and charitable giving for Muslims all over the world.
