Ahmad Faruq Ballo a native of Saki-Oke Ogun, Oyo North Senatorial district of Oyo State has emerged as one of the leading Imam of taraweeh prayer at a Central Mosque which serves as the headquarters for all the Sunnah Movements in Burkina Faso, located in the heart of capital city of the country, Ouagadougu.
The Mosque which is the most sort worshipping centre for Sunni adherents in the French speaking country has the capacity to contain about two thousand congregants at once.
Ahmad who memorized the Holy Qur’ān under the watch and tutelage of a well respected Islamic jurist and Qur’ān teacher Shaiykh AbdulRozaq Mustopha Aromose the proprietor of Mahad Daarul-Arqom Saki, Oyo State.
An Islamic Institute that major in training both male and female students in reciting and memorizing the Holy Qur’ān.
According to Ahmad; “this is not my first time of leading in the Mosque, I lead last year but it was just three days which was to assess my competency in Qur’ānic recitation and hifz.
AlhamduLillāhi this year, I was fully incorporated in to the league of leading Imams of the Mosque before the commencement of this year Ramadan Fast”.

A big Islamic Scholar in the making
Ahmad has a soft spot for Islamic Scholarship, he left Saki for Ouagadougu to further his studies at Ibn Taymiyyah College for Arabic Studies, which was established by Conglomerate of Islamic Scholars; most of them are graduates of Islamic University Medina, Saudi Arabia. And he’s hopeful to follow the footsteps of his teachers or at least study in one of the Arabian Universities.
It is my prayer that Allāh the Most Exalted should bless his knowledge and all those that has chosen the noble path of his and as well guide them towards further progressive efforts in projecting Islam.
