Saudi Arabia has used a robot to escort pilgrims through the Haram. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched a new initiative called the Guidance Robot. Its purpose is to give pilgrims with instruction on how to perform rituals as well as fatwas on legal matters related to doing Umrah. The robot, which can talk in Arabic, English, and Urdu, is located at the Grand Mosque’s courtyard near the King Abdulaziz.
According to Sheikh Badr bin Abdullah Al-Furaih, deputy president for guidance affairs, the robot is frequently asked 100 to 150 questions every day on Umrah rites during Ramadan. He went on to say that the bulk of persons who interact with the robot are Saudi, Syrian, Pakistani, or Indian.
The robot has access to material from a variety of books as well as advice from intellectuals from all around the Arab world.

According to the presidency, the Guidance Robot has a 21-inch touch screen, four wheels, and a’smart stopping system’ that ensures’smooth and flexible movement,’ as well as front and rear cameras that provide the robot with a panoramic image of its location, high-definition headphones, and a microphone. It is linked to a high speed 5Ghz WiFi network.
