Jum’ah Message

Among the infallible words of Allah goes the statement, “O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may develop God-consciousness.” (Qur’an 2:183).

The time (Ramadan) which encompasses the bulk of the above verse, marked by its meritoriousness, is fast approaching in few days count. It’s by this virtue, that the reminder – to keep us abreast of its spiritual/divine bounties, so as to make room for welcoming it with zealously widespread arms, in our preparations towards it – comes necessary.

A span of moments that caters for huge rewards, from the Almighty, for every little righteous deeds, is one which deserves our all round dedication to, with the intention of staying actively conscious on the path of pleasing Allah SWT, just as observed by the pious predecessors.

We are all enjoined to give our all, to the service of the Almighty in this anticipated period, while starting to reflect on our life sojourn from now, making resolves to strive better in worship, raising moral standards, leveling up our inclination towards humanity and staying committed towards general righteousness. There’s no limit to which the Creator can be pleased, so no limit should be placed on knowledge seeking, to earn His mercy. It all starts from intending to be better, right from within oneself, and Ramadan is surely a ground worthy of putting these together for, starting from NOW, as it’s never too late.

We pray Allah SWT enable us reach the blessed month and count the rewarding deeds embedded in it, another step -in our lives – to attaining Waseelah towards Him, with His Rahma wrapped around us, to always strive in goodness all through our existence, Aameen.

Mallam Ismail Abogunde.

Wish us a fulfilling Jum’ah. Let’s not forget to recite Suratul Kahf.
