At the just concluded 2022 774 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award in Abuja, Maryam Ogunbayo who represented Gombe State has emerged overall winner of the competition.
Maryam Ogunbayo of Pen Resource Academy emerged the overall winner with 119 points, beating all the other states. She was also the best in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics during the competition, which was held in Abuja. While a student from Ogun State, Master Gbolahan Azeem Ayinde of African Church Grammar School Ita- Iyalode Abeokuta came 2nd and Uchendu Judith from Edo State took the 3rd position.
The competition targets young Nigerians in the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory to motivate them towards careers in Science, Technology and Innovation sectors.

Amazed by her performance His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has recently awarded a full-scale scholarship and a cash donation to the overall winner, Maryam Ogunbayo for making Gombe State proud.
Meanwhile, the 1st Best 3 Contingents are expected in Abuja between 14th and 18th March, at the hole rite of the STI Expo 2022 to receive Presidential Award. Similarly, President Muhammadu Buhari will provide scholarships as much as a Doctorate stage to the 3 young Nigerians.
