Mob Lynched Vigilante Member In Abuja Over Alleged Blasphemy

A vigilance group member was slain by a mob in Abuja’s Lugbe neighborhood for making a blasphemous speech.

According to reports, the heinous incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday while members of the vigilance group at the famed Timber Shed market at the Federal Housing Estate (FHA) Lugbe in Abuja were attempting to apprehend some people breaching the market.

Residents were said to have pleaded with the vigilantes to release them in the name of Allah, but one of the vigilantes allegedly kicked them and made blasphemous remarks.

It was gathered that one of the vigilante operatives insisted that even if “God comes down”, he will not release the person arrested to go home.

The comment provoked the other group, which regrouped and brought down the vigilante office to rescue their man.

The vigilante staff who insisted on not releasing the apprehended person were reportedly attacked, killed, and set ablaze by the group.
