Since the late 1930s, the conversions to Islam began in the Igbo territory of south-east Nigeria. With the mixed blessings of a civil war, Igboland began to manifest clear evidence of indigenous Muslim presence.
In Enugu State, the Imam of Central Mosque, Ibagwa recently received a couple who converted to Islam to their new faith.
An Igbo based page, Islamic Calling in Igbo Land, confirmed it saying, “They accepted Islam today at Central Mosque Ibagwa-aka in Enugu State.
“Brother Chizoba is now Musa
and Sister Chidera is now Adina. May Allah make them useful to Islam in Igbo Land…Amen..,” it added.
