The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Oyo State Area Unit in a statement has said, the Department of State Security (DSS) invited out respected leader, Usatadh Barrister Abdulwaheed Olowonjaiye for an engagement scheduled for yesterday Monday 17th of January, 2022.
The foremost Nigerian Muslim student body noted that the invitation by DSS was honoured and Barr. Abdulwaheed Olowonjaiye was in the company of Alh. Abdul-Rasheed Adegoke – Baagi of Saki, Alh. Siyanbade – Secretary, Muslim Community, Oyo State, Barr. Abdulwaheed Lawal, Engr. Abdullateef Abdulsalam, Alh. Daud Afolabi – NACOMYO Coordinator, Hon. Kunle Yussuf, Hon Abass Agbara and Barr. Abdulrahman Olaiya – PRO MSSN.
The statement added that, other members of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Oyo State Area Unit led by Mallam Numan bn Bashir also registered their presence. Specially of recognition are the Unit’s Welfare 2, Bro. Folaranmi Monsur, Amirs MSSN UI & MSSN Poly Ibadan and their members, Delegation from Akinyele Area Council, Sango Area Council, Apata/Odo-Ona Area Council and Akinyele’s Extramural Students.

According to the report, the purpose of the invitation is not unclear, it was basically to speak to a viral video of Barr. Olowonjaiye which was extracted from his lecture at the just concluded 111th IVC where he speaks on the “HIJAB QUESTION”. An issue that keeps lingering for so long, particularly on the victimisation and molestation of Muslim female Students across institutions of learning.
MSSN said, “The interrogation started around 1pm and lasted for 4hrs and he was released around after 5pm. He was neither arrested nor detained.
Meanwhile, it must be noted that “issues around the video and its intentions were all resolved professionally by members of the DSS.”
“We appreciate everyone’s concern and prayers. May Allah make out feet firm on this cause of Al-Isalam, ” the statement added.
