
Burial of 17 people who Died after a fire broke out at an apartment building in the Bronx, New York City. The fire broke out just before 1100 local time [1600 GMT] on Sunday, beginning on the second and third floors of a building on East 181st Street. (New York City Fire Department, FDNY).
All 17 victims from a fire in a Bronx apartment building on Sunday died of smoke inhalation. The determination comes after an electric space heater sparked a fire in a duplex unit, flooding the 19-story apartment building with smoke.(New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, OCME).
Eight of the victims were children, including a 2-year-old boy, two 5-year-old girls and a 6-year-old boy.
