Increase In Hajj Fares: Intending Pilgrims To Get Money Refund- LSMPWB


The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSMPWB) has declared its intention to refund Hajj fares paid by intending pilgrims since 2019 in view of the recent increase in fees by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The State Government has agreed to refund intending pilgrims who are desirous of getting back their money after the increment, according to a statement signed by the Board Secretary, Imam AbdulHakeem Kosoko, and the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi.

It stated that individuals who had previously paid the initial deposit of N1.3 million since 2019 and those who are exempted by the Saudi Arabian authority’s 65-year-old age limit will be returned.

According to the statement, “All interested intending pilgrims are requested to write a letter of refund addressed to the Secretary, Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and submit same between Tuesday, 10th and Friday, 13th May, 2022, for processing”.

The current scenario is out of the state government’s control, according to the press release.

Lagos State Muslim pilgrims board have Refused to refund Hajji fares paid in since 2019 to intending pilgrims. As a result of increased in the fares.
They those affected to file in their request for the refund, which most people have done since early April and May. Up till today no refund have been made.
Please help us appeal to the board to make the refund immediately as we are tired of waiting for the refund.
We hope the board is not trying to frud us
