
The President-General, Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria (SCSN), Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmad passed away
in the early hours of Thursday in Kano. The SCSN is the focal Islamic religious institution that deals with Sharia in Nigeria and is also a representative body of Nigeria’s Muslim scholars.

The renowned medical doctor, politician and Islamic cleric died at the age of 83 years after a protracted illness.
The deceased had been battling with an ailment, unfortunately, today he answered the call of his creator, a family source stated.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings,” he added.

At the Alfurqan Friday Mosque in Kano, funeral prayers for Dr. Ahmad was conducted before his burial at the Tarauni cemetery in the Kano metropolis. He is survived by a wife and 10 children.
