Aliyu Abdullahi Bala, a Nigerian, traveled to Saudi Arabia by bicycle from Jos in Plateau State. Last week, his many admirers praised him in a popular video posted on social media.
Some sources claim that on February 23, 2021, Aliyu left Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He traveled through Sudan, Tchad, and Niger. He entered the Kingdom on December 10th, 2022.
He faced numerous obstacles along the route, including the infamous Boko Haram organization, kidnappers, armed bandits, dangerous animals, etc.
Although they did not pester him too much, Boko Haram members did urge him to pray for them. Since he has no money to provide them, just the armed bandit snatched away his phone. But when he arrived in a tiny Sudanese village and described his experiences with the crooks, the locals were sympathetic and gave him some money as well as a new phone.
He frequently slept in bushes on his way to the kingdom. Aliyu occasionally had to push the bicycle because the tyres would blow out. He was praised as a hero and showered with gifts and well wishes in every city and town he passed through.
Aliyu is currently in Makkah where he performed Umrah, as shown by the widely shared video. Later, he will travel to Madinah to see the Prophet’s mosque and stay there for a week. He will then travel to Nigeria after leaving Jeddah.
