“The type of Prophetic Islam that was coming from Mecca ( Islam with structures and government) had once been established in Ilorin. That was the reason why the name, “Ilorin Emirate” emerged. But today, where is the Emirate that had once lived to save Muslims?”
Yesterday, 5th December, 2021, at a Pre-Conference lecture organised by Jama’at Taawunil Muslimeen Ilorin Branch, Kwara State, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, the Founder and National President of Taawun, and the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta made this known during his lecture.
The lecture which took place at FOMWAN hall, Opp. Shoprite, Fate road, Ilorin and hosted by Barrister Shita Olapade, was well attended by dignitaries and Islamic organizations, among whom were, Pro. Yusuf Lanre Badmus, Alhaja Halimot Yusuf OON, The Alangua of Oke Adinni, Alhaji AbdurRahman Ayinla, The Chief Imam of Oke Adinni, Sheikh Zakariyyah Al Imaam, Alhaji Salawudeen (Chairman, Kwara State Muslims Stakeholders) represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad, the proprietor of Tajul Adabiy Islamic and Arabic school, Sheikh Abdul Waheed Al- Adabiy, The proprietor of HasiyaLlah Model Schools Alhaji Abdul Hameed Olohuntomi, Sheikh Nurudeen Hamzah former provost Muhyideen College of Education Ilorin, and Sheikh Abdul Wahab Sha’ban representative of Harakatul Islamiyyah (TIM) Ilorin.
Islam In Yorubaland Needs Rebranding – Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan
The Grand Mufti said in his lecture that Islamic revolution that gave the name “Emirate” to Ilorin would have swept the entire Southwest region if the struggle had continued, and the weakness (of Muslims) had not set in.
“The Muslims in Kwara must wake up. What remains for the “Islamic Emirate” is just the “name”. The real struggle for Islamic revival had died at the same time the enemies are trying to uproot and deface the remains of its Islamic structure. So, if care is not taken, Islam might become history in Ilorin if no one cares to protect its Islamic value and dignity” Sheikh said.
He called for unity among the Muslims, likewise, establishment of Islamic structures.
