
Professor Muibi Olufemi Saibu of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, will deliver the seventeenth (17th) Inaugural Lecture in the 2019/2020 Academic Session of the University of Lagos on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 4.00p.m. at the J. F. Ade. Ajayi Auditorium, UNILAG, Akoka.
This was noted in a statement by the University recently.
The statement said, “the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, will preside over the Lecture entitled: “Rethinking the Development Process in Nigeria: A Choice between Lamborghini and Ajagbe–Ejo”
“Members of the University community and the general public are cordially invited to join virtually via Zoom Video Communications,” it added.

Biography
Olufemi Saibu is a Professor of Development Macroeconomics with special interest in financial inclusiveness, economic livelihood and sustainable development in the Department of Economics of University of Lagos Nigeria. He had B.Sc (Ed), M.Sc n PhD in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife between 1993 and 2006 and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow of University of Johannesburg South Africa in 2012/2013.
He started is academic career in 2001 at Obafemi Awolowo university and rose to the position of Senior lecturer in 2007. He joined the service of University of Lagos in 2011 and became Professor in 2016. With his 17 years of academic work experience, he had over fifty publications and contribution to books. He has mentored about six PhD students and several Master degree students.
