The director of the Muslim Rights Concern, Professor Ishaq Akintola has commended the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi for appointing the Founder and National President of Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen as the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland.
His commendation was made yesterday in Lagos when the Grand Mufti delegates paid him a courtesy visit to seek for his fatherly support on task ahead of the Grand Mufti which would channel a new path for Yoruba Muslims.

He said, “Ameer Ta’awun , Sheikh Daood Imran has been in the Jihad in the first run of the struggle for the emancipation of Muslims. We are proud of him and he his is our Mufti. But we have to commend the efforts of this dynamic king, Oluwo of Iwo. For the first time in the history of Yorubas, we have a king who identifies with the religion of Islam openly without any apology to anyone.”
“Not too long ago he declared himself as the Emir of Yorubaland. These are Islamic identities, I see no reason why people have to pit quarrel against that declaration. We are proud of him and we pray that the Oluwo of Iwo lives long on his throne”.
