
At the Combined Fourth Convocation of the Kaduna State University held at the Tafawa Balewa Way Main Campus of KASU on Saturday, 25th September 2021, the former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II was installed as the Chancellor of Kaduna State University.
Malam Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State and Visitor, Kaduna State University
said in his speech. He said:
“As the Visitor of the University, I have the immeasurable honour today to be part of its Combined 4th Convocation Ceremony and the installation of His Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 14th Emir of Kano, as the Chancellor of the Kaduna State University.
I wish to express the gratitude of the Kaduna State Government to His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II for accepting our invitation to serve as the Chancellor of KASU.
I congratulate our Chancellor and the graduating students. We felicitate with the recipients of the Honorary Doctorate degrees and I wish everyone safe return to their abodes.”
The Kaduna State University was established under the Kaduna State Law Number 3 promulgated on 21st May, 2004. His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II is the second Chancellor of Kaduna State University after HRH, Mallam Tagwai Sambo since inception, His Highness, Malam Tagwai Sambo, the Chief of Moro’a, who was appointed to the role in 2005.
Muhammadu Sanusi II, is one of most influential Muslim leaders in Nigeria. He is a member of the Dabo dynasty and was previously emir of the ancient city-state of Kano. Sanusi II was born in Kano in 1961 into the royal family as the grandson of Muhammadu Sanusi I.
