
Some notable Nigerian Muslims were awarded on Saturday, 18th September, 2021 for their contributions in the areas of Islamic scholarship, Da’wah methodology and activism, Arabo-Islamic creative industry, enterprise creation and community development, at the first graduation ceremony of Mujaddiduun Islamic Institute for Qur’an memorization and Islamic Studies, held at Inisa Town Hall, Inisa Osun State.
The Muslim Voice Nigeria learnt that the graduation ceremony was in two categoies; the walimatul Qu’ran and complete memorization of the Glorious Qur’an. The Institute produced eight graduands and ten Qur’an memorizers (huffaz) each of the Walimatul Qur’an and complete memorization categories respectively. The Head, Department of Islamic Law, University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulRazzaq AbdulMajeed Alaro, became the recipient of MIA Award of Excellence for Islamic scholarship in recognition of his exemplary Islamic scholarship, leadership and peaceful Da’wah methodology. Other awardees includes, Dr. Nafiu Ahmad Al-Jawhari, Barr. Idris Ibrahim Alao, Dr. Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi and Mr. AbdulFatah Kolapo.
Similarly, a lecturer at the Department of Islamic Studies, Al Hikmah university, Dr. Nafiu Ahmad Al-Jawhari, was the recipient of MIA Award of Excellence for Islamic Cultural Development in recognition of his Da’wah revival activism and promotion of Islamic sciences, culture and peace.
In recognition of his disruptive, but remarkable innovations in Arabo-Islamic Creative Industry, promotion of Arabic-Islamic education and support for young Muslim start-ups, Barr. Idris Alao, the Chief Operating Officer of Al Idrisi Hub for Studies and Translations, was the recipient of MIA Award of Excellence for Muslim Youths Development according to the organizers.
MIA Awards of Excellence for Community Development and Award of Excellence for Enterprise Creation recipients were Dr. Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi and Mr. AbdulFatah Kolapo respectively.
Prominent individuals from the Muslims Community who witness the occasion are the former Vice Chancellor, Osun State University, Distinguished Prof. Bashir Adekunle Okeshina, Shaykh Qomarudeen Adeniyi Bello, Hon. Justice Abdulkareem Abdurrazzak, among others.
