It saddens the mind when I read how a group of people under the name Afenifere tried to cross their political boundary to attack the personality of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through their blasphemous statement.
The Muslims have been silent over the Afenifere people who are voice of their own and not a representative of the Yoruba Muslims but when they launched their attack on our Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ it became incumbent upon us to react to this annoying insult.
Who do the Afenifere people think they are? What gave them the audacity to make such sacrilegious statement? What stopped them from comparing their Sunday Igboho with their Obatala or Oduduwa they worship?
It is so embarrassing when I read that derogatory statement where the Afenifere people as published by Sahara Reporter that their Sunday Igboho is like our own Prophet Muhammad who fled Mecca for Medina over persecution. This is totally disgusting and a big slap on Islam and the entire Muslims.
How can you compare someone like Sunday Igboho that Islam has describe as an enemy of God by associating partners with God through his satanic practices of idol worship and paganism, depending on satanic powers for victory and you compare such person with the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ whose preaching is completely opposite to your Igboho?
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was a man of peace unlike your Igboho who is causing chaos and unrest in our Yoruba land.
Your Igboho who has caused more mischief than good that you ought to have cautioned when he was displaying his recklessness.
Innocent people have lost their lives as a result of what your Igboho has perpetrated.
Your Igboho is a partisan PDP member that is used for whatever they want to use it for as you cannot deny his video with Governor Seyi Makinde.
He is an idolater and a pagan whose path is totally in conflict with Islam.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did not preach or stand for tribalism or ethnicity or any form of bigotry. He united all tribes and not a secessionist like your Igboho. He preached peace and harmony and united everyone.
Neither Igboho nor Afenifere represents the Yoruba Muslims. We are totally against your practices but we keep silent to watch your practices and allow our Lord to decide your case.
As for your blasphemous comment which is most likely due to your ignorance and path of MISGUIDANCE away from Islam that you have chosen, our own Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ never fled Mecca for Medina over persecution and he was not a fugitive. The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was invited by People of Medina to come to their land and become their leader while establishing a system of governance that will be based on the Book of God and Divine Religion. Representatives of two major tribes named Aws and Khazraj tribes held series of meetings with the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to invite him to Medina and establish a system of government that will be pleasing.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ first sent some of his people to Medina before he now decided to move there and that is why it is called Migration or Hijrah.
Your Igboho was not invited to Cotonou or Benin. He was considered a run away fugitive who has been declared wanted due to his atrocities and the unrest he has caused in Yoruba land together with his group of few people supporting him. It was said that they caught him with fake passport which is a crime that is not pardonable because it is fraudulent. Moreover, he was not planning to settle in Benin but using Benin as a means to run away to his other destination and leaving behind those he has misguided here.
What is better for the Afenifere people is to admonish their Sunday Igboho to forsake idolatory and pagan practices and believe that God is One and He is the Most Powerful and Only One deserved to be worship.
Almighty God says: “Surely, God those not forgive commiting shirk (associating partners with God and believing in idols and satanic powers) but he forgives any other sins aside from believing in idols.”
I urge all other Imams and Muslims supporting Igboho or Afenifere or agitating for Yoruba Nation or Oduduwa Republic to desist from such nonsense. Islam is against tribalism or ethnicity or any other form of bigotry. We must rise to fight crime and not tribe. The Holy Prophet Muhammad said: An Arab is not Superior to a non-Arab. He also said: Whoever agitates for ethnicity or tribalism is not part us (as Muslims and his followers).
Muslims should rise to condemn this blasphemy so it won’t repeat itself.
