Marriott Unveil Plan to Open World’s largest Aloft Hotel in Makkah with 1,000 Guest Rooms


Marriott will also open the first Renaissance Hotel in the kingdom and a new Courtyard by Marriott in the holy city. The world’s largest Aloft Hotel will open in Saudi Arabia.

Aloft Makkah Taysir is set to open in the holy city with plans for 1,000 guest rooms. The Marriott International property will be located in Makkah’s Taysir district, close to the Grand Mosque entrance. This will make the hotel ideally placed for guests travelling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj or Umrah.

The multi-project agreement includes the country and territory’s first Renaissance Hotel, the world’s largest Aloft Hotel and a Courtyard by Marriott in the holy city of Makkah.

All three properties are projected to open by 2025, a statement said.

The new hotels will join Marriott’s existing portfolio of 30 hotels across nine cities in Saudi Arabia, including The Ritz-Carlton Riyadh, Burj Rafal Riyadh and Assila, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Jeddah.

The world’s largest Aloft hotel will feature the brand’s use of technology and design throughout their properties. Known as Marriott International’s stylish lifestyle brand, Aloft properties usually boast rooms with platform beds, large LCD television screens and rainfall showers.

The hotel will be well-placed for access to the Grand Mosque, making it a good choice for travellers on pilgrimage.

Aloft Makkah Taysir is slated to feature a lounge, a 24/7 grab-and-go gourmet menu, and a 24-hour fitness centre.

Re:charge, the brand’s 24-hour fitness centre, will also have a space in the property.

Renaissance Riyadh Hotel

Renaissance Hotels will make its debut in Saudi Arabia with the opening of Renaissance Riyadh Hotel which is expected to feature 266 suites, three food and beverage outlets and leisure facilities such as a spa, pool and fitness centre.

Evolving Sustainable Geotourism in Saudi Arabia

Aloft Makkah Taysir is anticipated to be the brand’s largest hotel in the world with plans for 1,000 guest rooms and will be located close to the Grand Mosque entrance.

It is also set to have a luxury spa, swimming pool and a well-equipped fitness centre.

It will connect travellers through the spirit of its local neighbourhood, as guests will be able to take part in evening events and activities inspired by the cultures and traditions of Riyadh and local “navigators” will be employed to help travellers find the best authentic experiences.

The fifth Courtyard hotel to open in Saudi Arabia will do so in Makkah. Courtyard by Marriott Makkah Kudai will feature 438 spacious guest rooms, the brand’s signature Grab n’ Go market and a fitness centre.

Designed to offer leisure and business travellers the brand’s classic style. The hotel will have flexible spaces for meetings and guest rooms with spacious work stations.
